You will received- This Set of 5 Vintage Native American Indian original dolls. Each one signed and hand made by Doug Fast horse & Nick Fast horse. All dolls were made in the 1970’s.

You will NEVER see another set like this again. Genuine one of a kind, hand made by the artists themselves Doug Fast Horse and Nick Fast Horse. A lot of their pieces are in museums. I own several drawings aswell that i will be putting up for sale. Again RARITIES & NEVER to see again pieces. One of a kind.

Most pieces are owned by celebrities, Princess’s and Kings…. quite a few pieces are hanging and displayed in museums.

Each doll is handmade, human hair, all handmade beads. Face and hands are wood & all hand chiseled. Their native clothing is all handmade, hand beaded, moccasins, purse, suede, attire, head dresses, etc… everything created by hand by both world renowned artists Doug Fast Horse & Nick Fast Horse.

These are RARE and valuable.

Doug fast horse was

born on the Pine Ridge Indian reservation, South Dakota in 1943, Doug now resides in Rapid City, South Dakota. "My work is American Indian art that communicates to my people the way our forefathers lived" proclaims Fast Horse. "All people have the ability to create Indian art, but if an Indian creates without his vision, he loses his pride of creation. Without pride, the piece is not a work of art but simply a craft to be sold. The cradftsman will stop working if there is no market for the things he makes, but an artist will continue to create for his family, his friends and his own satisfaction".

The first comprehensive showing of arts and crafts by Fast Horse was a special exhibition by the US Department of the Interior, Indian Arts and Crafts Board, Sioux Indian Museum and Crafts Center in 1980.

Fast Horses's works are represented in a number of public and private collections, including former Governor of South Dakota Richard Kneip, a set of lithographs belonging to Princess Grace of Monaco; The Minnesota Historical Society, Minneapolis, Minnesota.

Nicholas Fast Horse specialized in self-standing-figures fashioned over wire armatures affixed to a base. Commonly referred to as

"activity" dolls, these figures provide the beholder with additional cultural information about diverse Native American activities such as preparation for battle, dancing or playing games. Medicine dolls refer to stories told to him as a child by his grandmother, Middle-calf.

Nicholas Fast Horse began his career as a doll artist in his mid forties. His work, reflecting his interest in native dance and music, was primarily devoted to dancer and drummer dolls. Fast Horse's dolls are among the most expressive found in contemporary Native American art!

These dolls are over 50yrs old! They are RARE & absolutely Spectacular pieces!

All handmade and created with handmade & hand carved from the beading, to the moccasins, the human hair, the Native clothing, every detail & part of each doll is created by hand.
