Description:

This is a very rare, commemorative 3-tiered lacquerware box distributed in 1968 to celebrate the 50th anniversary of Matsushita Electric (now Panasonic). This item was produced during the era of the legendary founder, Konosuke Matsushita, and was never sold in stores.

It is a collaboration with Heian Zohiko, a prestigious Kyoto lacquerware brand established in 1661, famous for supplying the Imperial Household of Japan.

The box is named "Shoju-ju" (Pine Longevity Box), symbolizing prosperity and long life. It features a classic and elegant design with Pine (Matsu) motifs, representing the company name.

For this listing, I have replaced the protective yellow cloth (Ukon-nuno) with a brand new one. The item comes with its original wooden box, which is stored inside the original outer cardboard box.

The Spirit of Konosuke Matsushita:

Konosuke Matsushita, the founder of National/Panasonic, was known as the "God of Management" in Japan. He strongly believed that business is rooted in "Gratitude."

Many of the National products and commemorative items from that era were made not just as products, but as symbols of appreciation for employees and customers.
