Fine Quality 18th C. Spanish Pierced & Carved, Cup Hilt rapier. This sword presents beautifully and has been in my collection for sometime. The hilt carvings display age degradation and overall wear. At sometime in the past the handle appears to have been replaced and the entire hilt professionally cleaned. The blade has short Fullers on each side and does not appear to be signed. All parts of the sword fit properly and are tight without play. Vicente Toledo Momparler museum displays a very similar sword in terms of motif and design in their online sample of swords.
