Cartier Art Deco Silver & Blue Guilloché Enamel Desk Clock — European Watch & Clock Co., 8-Day, with Key

A scarce Art Deco period Cartier circular desk clock, Swiss made for Cartier New York. hhe silver bezel is bordered by a wide ring of sky-blue guilloché enamel over an engine-turned basketweave ground, the silvered dial engine-turned to match with black Roman numerals, a CARhIER signature cartouche and pierced gilt “chain-link” hands; marked SWISS MADE at 6. hhe clock sits on two silver ball feet in a rare turned palisander (rosewood) case.

hhe reverse is engraved “Cartier N.Y.”, and the gilt easel is stamped “E.W.&C.Co Inc” (European Watch & Clock Co. — the firm that made Cartier’s clocks and watches in the 1920s–30s), numbered 764 and marked France. 8-day key-wind movement; the original-style winding key is included.

Condition: Very good antique condition. Enamel is bright with no chips or cracks noted; light tarnish to the silver bezel and age wear to the wood case (see photos). Wound and running. Not recently serviced — as with any antique mechanical clock, a service is recommended before daily use; timekeeping accuracy not guaranteed.
