When Russ Cochran was getting ready to publish the Two-Fisted Tales volumes of The Complete EC Library, it was discovered that the EC archives did not contain the original art for the cover of issue #36. Since the entire project was marketed as being shot from the original art, this was a problem. John Severin, the original penciller, was tasked with recreating the cover as exactly as possible, and this was the cover used when the Two-Fisted Tales volumes of The Complete EC Library were published in 1980.
