Superb One Of A Kind Jurassic Dinosaur Age Fish Fossil Redfieldius Connecticut:

This is a fossil that never reaches the market, a superb specimen of Redfieldius expertly prepared from the Jurassic East Berlin Formation of Connecticut!! This fish was found naturally fractured (as the vast majority of these fossils are not in one piece as found, either cross sections or found along weathered breaks in the bedrock), carefully reassembled, and prepared with an air scribe and air abrasion to reveal all the delicate details!

The fish itself is also in an uncommon orientation, being dorsally compressed around the skull region. As a result, there is significant visibility of the skull plates as well as teeth and tiny hooks on the edge of the skull which are typical of Redfieldius!!! One almost never sees these hooks showing and these are clearly visible along with the eye sockets of the fish, making for such a beautiful and unique view of otherwise non-visible features in most specimens!!!!

The fish measures in at a whopping 8 inches in length and would be a bit larger if completely outstretched instead of the curvature toward the front of the specimen! There is some slight restoration on the specimen where it was weathered as well as some matrix patching on the reverse side, however this in no way deters from the fossil being museum quality and a total gem for any collection! Any serious fish fossil should consider this opportunity as you more than likely won’t see another one or one of this magnitude available again!
