The "SL Fuyu no Shitsugen-go" is a winter-season sightseeing train running on the Senmo Main Line between Kushiro and Shibecha in Hokkaido. It is the only steam locomotive (SL) train currently operating in Hokkaido.
Passenger cars include the "Tanchou Car," with seats arranged facing the windows to enjoy the Kushiro Marsh scenery up close, and the "Stove Car," equipped with traditional potbelly stoves inside the car.The C11 171 locomotive was once preserved in a park in Shibecha and was restored to operating condition in 1998. It has hauled various event trains in Hokkaido and now serves as the dedicated locomotive for this train. A distinctive feature is that the return journey is operated in reverse (backing operation).This N gauge set reproduces the active Hokkaido SL train. In addition to the C11 171 locomotive sold separately and a 5-car passenger set, this special edition combines the locomotive and passenger cars in one package with a specially designed sleeve.
