This listing features an exceptionally rare 1936-1937 Zippo Square Model lighter with the distinctive KENDALL Metaliq finish. This particular combination of the square model, external hinge, and Metaliq design makes this Zippo extremely scarce. The "Metaliq" process, a unique paint application that gives a metallic appearance, is a hallmark of early Zippo artistry. Owning this piece is a chance to possess a tangible slice of Zippo's pioneering history, a remarkable example of vintage American craftsmanship and a true highlight for any discerning collector.
ConditionThis is a used vintage Zippo from 1936-1937. The chrome-plated brass case features a 4-barrel external hinge, diagonal lines, and a C-clip. While used, it appears to have seen limited use and is in good overall condition, though minor scuffs are present. There is a dent on the case, and the hinge has slight play. The Metaliq paint is largely intact, with only minor chipping.
The inside unit is a seamless, chrome-plated brass with no markings, a 14-hole chimney, a Daruma cam, a coil spring (with excellent tension), horizontal teeth, pure cotton without padding, and a small-head flint screw.
No original box or instruction manual are included.
