ITEM DESCRIPTION -

Features the early GMH corporate emblem to the front, depicting the GMH letters within a stylised transport/road design, surrounded by the wording:

“ADVANCEMENT OF TRANSPORTATION”

Research into this particular design has located Holden collectors’ material describing this style of mug as being issued to GMH employees during the 1950s, making it an interesting piece of early Australian Holden and automotive history.

The underside is clearly marked:

“STEELITE”
Vitrified
Globe Pottery Co. Ltd
England

Heavy-duty vitrified hotel/canteen-style construction with a substantial handle and flared base.

Size: Approximately 9cm high – please see ruler photograph for scale.

Condition: Good vintage condition for its age. Shows expected signs of previous use including some surface marks, light staining/discolouration and general age-related wear. The GMH emblem remains very clear and displays exceptionally well. Please examine all photographs carefully as they form an important part of the condition description.

A scarce piece of original GMH/Holden memorabilia, particularly desirable to collectors of early Holden advertising, Australian motoring history, General Motors memorabilia and vintage automotive promotional items.
