Highlights Mr. Mineo Okabe, the eldest son of Mr. Karakuro Kato, is a solitary artist who began his career in ceramics from an early age and pursued the art unique to ceramics.
Matiere's works, which make full use of his classical techniques and are particular about the sense of unity between clay and glaze, have a unique presence.
In 1936, at the age of 16, the author began developing oribe techniques and created a unique oribe called Mineo Oribe that transcended Momoyama pottery.
