For your consideration is an exceedingly rare and historically important c.1789 personal royal wax desk seal stamp of HM King George IV of England, as HRH Prince William, Duke of Clarence and St. Andrews. Constructed of wood, brass, and steel. Masterfully hand engraved. Guaranteed original and authentic. Stamp measures 1.70" x 1.25". Height is 4.7".

Duke of Clarence and St. Andrewswas a title awarded to a prince of theBritishRoyal family. The creation was in thePeerage of Great Britain.

While there had been several creations ofDukes of Clarence(and there was later aDuke of Clarence and Avondale), the only creation of a Duke of Clarence and St Andrews was in 1789 forPrince William, third son of KingGeorge III. When William succeededhis brotherto the throne in 1830, the dukedom merged in the crown.
