Katherine Bernhardt, born in 1975 in St. Louis, Missouri, is celebrated for her vibrant and kinetic paintings that burst with color and life. A graduate of the School of the Art Institute of Chicago (BFA, 1998) and the School of Visual Arts, New York (MFA, 2000), Bernhardt\'s work defies traditional painting norms, offering canvases that are liberated from the constraints of illusion and perspective. Her art is characterized by a raw, poetic spontaneity, and a penchant for combining disparate motifs from pop culture and everyday life, reflecting a profound yet playful free associative process. Bernhardt’s career is marked by notable exhibitions and significant public installations that have cemented her reputation as a force in contemporary art. Select solo and group exhibitions include shows with David Zwirner (Hong Kong, London), Canada (New York), Nanzuka (Tokyo), among many others.
