Rare Prancer form by the esteemed wood carver Karl Muller. We know it's an exotic Zebra form not just a horse with stripes as the mane short cropped, and the tail which is fat and long, notably different from the standard carousel horse. As are the proportions of a Zebra. Muller and his partner had a studio in Molbitz, Germany. This one was used at Coney Island and could date to the late 1800's. Very early piece with what looks like the original paint.. Muller was regarded as one of the best carvers of Europe. We are coming at this as collectors of industrial, folk art, signs and weathervanes, tattoo art and cowboy stuff. So we like the patina showing the age. Respect the rust as they say.
