It's offered to your attention the high-detailed copy of the heavy lift rocket for launching satellites and space stations into orbit. That's a precision specimen from the model workshop at the Tushino Machine Building Plant "Salyut" in Moscow - the manufacturer of the Soviet space shuttle "Buran".

About the rocket. The single-use heavy rocket "Proton" was developed in the USSR in the 1960s as a means of launching orbital stations and their modules, heavy artificial satellites and interplanetary stations. "Proton" is currently used to launch Russian federal and foreign commercial spacecraft.

Design features. The height of the model is about 96" (2.44 m), and its scale is 1:25. It consists of two parts, with each part packed in a plywood shipping box. The materials used for the model are metal, wood, and dense cardboard. The small parts of the model are precisely detailed. There are no moving or removable parts on the model.

Provenance. This model was made in the 1990s at the Tushino Machine-Building Plant "Salyut" to be used as an exhibit at various space exhibitions. In 2015, the factory decayed and ceased its exhibition activities. The model was stored for an extended period on the territory of the plant. In 2016, it has been aquired from the retired engineer of the plant "Salyut", cleaned and professionally restored.

Scale - 1:25.

Height - 96" (2.44 m) with the stand.

Material - dense thin cardboard, wood and metal, other materials.

CONDITION. The model is in very good condition with the exception of hardly noticeable warping of the hulls of the boosters and small breaks along the glue seams.
