Offeredis a trimmed cabinet photograph depicting a man (Guy Black) driving a slightlydecorated “horseless carriage” (Automobile) in the Elk Day Parade in CrestonIowa. September 16, 1902. The photographer was Caleb Agnew/Agnew Studios ofCreston, Iowa. He had a studio on N Maple St in Creston from 1896-1917. The manis wearing a white coat and hat and has his hand on the steering tiller. Thewheels are decorated with cloth. They are spoked and appear to be all wood. Norubber on the tires and it appears he has a mule in tow. (Just in case?). Theimage is 7 ¾” x 9 ¾”. The top and right sides of the mount have been trimmedoff. The other corners are rounded. Agnew’s stamp remains in the lower leftcorner. The image remains clean and very neat! Great early auto!
