Ernest Sanglan (France, B.middle 19 century) Cast Patinated Bronze Vessel, Aesop's Fable "The Fox And The Crow"
Signed near the base. Fine relief decoration of the fable with the fox eyeing the piece of cheese that the crow holds in its beak. After flattering remarks from the fox, the crow dropped the cheese. The artist is known to have used Aesop's Fables as subject matter. The vessel with a round plaque inside half way down.
