In 1907, New York City became the first police force in the United States to institute dogs to assist in tracking and apprehending criminals. The training facility was in Glen Ridge, New Jersey (a bordering town to Cedar Grove).
It was not until after WWI, when Red Cross dogs had proved their worth on battlefields, that the practice became widespread in the U.S.— making 1915 very early in
the history of this under documented work.
One vertical shows emulsion loss at edge w/ old tape repair which should be addressed. Minor foxing & scrapbook residue aside.
