The 1960 United States presidential election was the 44th quadrennial presidential election. It was conducted on Tuesday, November 8, 1960.

In a tightly disputed election, Democratic United States Senator John F. Kennedy beat the incumbent Vice President Richard Nixon, the Republican Party nominee.

This letter was written on November 10th, 1960, two days after the victory of JFK, and signed by Lady Bird Johnson.

This offer includes the original letter, envelop and stamp, which references the day it was mailed fromWashington, with Mrs. Lyndon B. Johnson's address on the back of the envelop.

The color of the letter and envelop is an off white/light tan color.

The letter appears to have been in a scrap book, the letter is adhered on the back to a kind of light weight paper that has squares on it, as shown in the photos. There are several spots where you can see it can be pulled apart. It is unclear if the adhesive holding them together is tape or some kind of adhesive holding the letter to the piece of paper with squares on it.

The envelop has what looks like a moisture band where a person would usually lick the letter.

These documents appear to have normal wear, that is, a look of every day wear, as if people looked at it, as if it was shown or appreciated by the family who owned it.

The letter itself is in much better shape than the envelop.

This is an excellent gift for anyone one interested in original historical presidential documents. Or, for anyone interested in building their historical document collection in reference to the time era and lives of President Kennedy and Lyndon Bains Johnson.
