The plaque is the second version of “Achilles in Scyros Among the Daughters of Lycomedes” (a/k/a, “Sacrifice of Iphigenia”). It was designed by Camillo Pacetti (Italian sculptor, 1958-1826) in 1788 (while he was engaged by Josiah Wedgwood under the supervision of John Flaxman, 1787/88), as an addition (along with “Priam Kneeling Before Achilles, Begging for the Body of His Son Hector”) to his famous Life of Achilles series.
Overall, the plaque is in a very good condition. However, it looks as if there is an old barely visible repair (could have been a manufacturing defect; marked on pic. 14). Unfortunately, the tile cannot be examined outside the old/antique frame without compromising the plaque integrety.
