Daniel Quare Tall Case Clock:
$145000.00
This time piece is an English Tall Case Clock made by Daniel Quare of London circa 1695. Daniel Quare was born in 1649 and is considered one of the greatest clockmakers in history and a contemporary of Thomas Tompion. He was a man so liked by the king that he could enter and leave the king's castle at will. Many of his pieces are in display at prominent museums. This clock runs for an entire year on a single wind. One of the more unique aspects of this clock are the chains which hold the 60 lb. weight on the time side and the 80 lb. weight on the strike side. These chains were made by hand over 300 years ago and are still in excellent condition and working well. If sold to a customer in the US or Canada, this clock comes with a limited lifetime warranty. If you would like more information on this clock please message us.
