Although I do not anticipate this pencil to sell at the listed price, I will be happy if it is sold to the one who appreciate it such.I will be happy to communicate with other collectors and share information (my real purpose for the listing).When collectors pay large amounts of money for a coin with an imprinting or pressing error, in addition to the value that comes from the assumption that these coins - or artifacts in general - were made this way intentionally for any other reason but an error, they sometimes assume that they will never come across the same artifact again during their life. I believe that the pencil in this listing has the potential to be one of those super rare findings. I will be happy if I learn that other collectors own a similar pencil with double imprints as an error, and I sure would appreciate a photograph!It is worth mentioning that despite I doubt - for several reasons - that the double imprinting is anything but an error, theSociety of Former Special Agents of the FBI, however, in 1998, celebrated the previous owner of this pencil, Robert (Bob) D. Amo, whose name is imprinted on the pencil's barrel, for his work with the FBI as a special agent between 1951 and 1957, a period that is highly potential to match the production year of the listed pencil because the model of this listed pencil with the italic logo imprinted on the pocket clip (i.e., registered by the Cory Corporation) was produced from around 1953 until around 1969. I believe that the double imprints on the pencil in this listing is for no reason than an error, because the1998 Society of Former Special Agents of the FBI mentioned also that Bob Amo worked as a sales manager between 1967 and 1972. Almost all the Autopoint stock that belonged to Bob Amo (i.e., that I purchased from the NY reseller) resonates with this exact period, with Bob Amo mentioned several times as an Autopoint District Manager. What is also remarkable is that the late Bob Bolin (i.e., Robert Luke Bolin) shared online a 1962 Autopoint Newsletter stating that Bob Amo attended the Autopoint's NY Sales meetings(probably as a salesmanfrom the Buffalo, NY area). That meeting was held in Buffalo, NY, at theClinton Aire Hotel on March 17, 1962.

The original grip and eraser cap can be both included (i.e., by request) for the winning buyer (p.s., for no extra charge).The pencilworks,mechanically, but otherwise, expect the worse in term of condition, such as scratches, dents, dirt, rust, etc.The box and the booklet are included but they are in very bad condition with a lot of dirt, stains, color changing, rips, tears, etc.
Selling as is, for parts only, as photographed, and with no return.The Autopoint Dealer's info are imprinted on the pencil, including name, address, and phone number.The dealer who owned this pencil (Bob Amo) used to work as a district manager for Autopoint and advertised for many products from Autopoint, Dur-O-Lite, Zippo, and others.This listed pencil has the "FOR REAL THIN LEADS" imprinted twice on the barrel by error, both on the wrong sides, rather than the standard side (i.e.,the standard side for the"FOR REAL THIN LEADS" imprint istypically the first side from the left before the pocket clip). It seems that Autopoint used to use these error pencil for advertising giveaways (after filtered out by quality control or by workers on the machines). I have another pencil from the same collection that is not included in this listing and has the "FOR REAL THIN LEADS" message imprinted once, but on the wrong side of the barrel as well. I also collected other pencils from the WWII era from Autopoint with the "FORREAL THIN LEADS" message imprinted on the wrong side of the barrel. Out of all of these extremely hard to find pencils, this listed pencil is unique in having the same message imprinted twice and also confirmed to be an advertising pencil, all at the same time! This is not a coin with double imprint, this is a rare find that probably was never seen before this listing.Note: Shipping is insured for less than the whole selling price, with adult signature required and return receipts.
