Calling in Experts: Unidentified Space Object

This slide was discovered within an 1940s Kodachrome Hawaii collection. The Craftsmen's guild slide binder distributed into the 1950s.

Head- The front of object appears round with linear lines perpendicular to the motion. Two white objects are detached from the main body with no point of connection.

Mid- The mid trail focuses on patterns, indicating this image is sharp and not a camera shake or long exposure.

Tail- The film seen by naked eye or overexposed, a dark line is seen perpendicular to the trail. Ai indicates this may be the Karman line at 100 KM above ground. The second image shows the overexposed scan.

Some response was given if the object could be light or water reflection. Zooming in on the trail closely, the mid section has a bump, the head section shows shadows of depth and motion, indicating it is a moving object and not light based on the non-linear trajectory. The mid section trail bump may have been a result if the object crossed over the karman atmospheric difference.

Research on telescopes show the US Military did have advance telescopes for plane and intel use that were not offered to the public. If captured on ground level, likely a telescope with custom mounted camera was used for this up close detail, where as any commercial lens would not be sufficient for this level of zoom (62+ miles).

The final price for this slide will be adjusted once the object is identified.
