As I am retiring from label collecting after 60 years of fun. I enjoyed collecting labels all these years, and now it is time to share my hobby with others. I have focused collecting salmon labels for many years.
This beautiful label is in great condition, because it was not placed on a can - It was must likely used as a showroom example used by the Ridgeway Litho Company as a beautiful can label example. Ridgeway started their printing business in 1921, which is about the time this label was printed. Printers often displayed their beautiful label products in public, so potential customers might see the quality of the printers work.
The San Juan Fishing & Packing Company operated a major salmon cannery and cold-storage plant at Taku Harbor, Alaska until about 1903.The company was known for having multiple facilities throughout Alaska, and it was later acquired by the New England Fish Company in 1965.This beautiful label measures 9 3/4 inches wide by 4 1/4 inches tall.
