HELIOS KLIMAX YEAR 1914
Helios Klimax typewriter, manufactured around 1914 by A. Ney & Co., Berlin, Germany.
This Helios Klimax model is identical to its predecessor, the "Helios," with a slight difference in the layout of the three shift keys, which were moved to the keyboard.
The Helios typewriter was manufactured in 1908 by Justin Bamberger and Schreibmaschinenwerke Deutsches, Munich, Germany. In 1909, the Kanzler company formed Helios Schreibmaschinen GmbH, and in 1914, the machine's name was changed to Helios-Klimax.
The printing mechanism was a cylinder with four rows of characters, a total of 21 keys in two rows on the keyboard, allowing the typing of uppercase letters, lowercase letters, numbers, and symbols. The machine was named after the Greek god Helios, the personification of the Sun in Greek mythology. The epithet Klimax (peak) reaffirmed the importance of this curious typewriter.
