Here is QUITE the Find! A scrapbook/photo album from the 1920's put together by Irene Agnes Jones of Albuquerque NM. She must of had access to OFFICIAL Forest Service photos, because she has a LOT of them! She has a pattern of showing the forests, the trees, the logging operations, the rangers, the fire towers, fire, other uses for forests...She took the time to label most everything...many of the photos are loose from their corners, but this would be an awesome re-do project that wouldn't take too much effort to get it back like it was. There are a few items missing in action, but only a VERY FEW. The whole thing measures 11 1/4" x 15 1/4" with 82 pages (maybe the equal of 1 1/2" pages are missing stuff). She also included many other newspaper/magazine photos and glued a lot of them down; none of the original photographs have been glued down; there are also newspaper articles, some brochure type items, cartoons, notes, reports, etc...The LARGE photos are about 6" x 8" and there are about 41 of those...many of the photos have typed and written descriptions on their backs...several famous photographers of the day took them (E. S. Shipp, J.D. Jones, Paul H. Roberts) many of the photos are of AMAZING content showing logging practices/timber cutting pre-chainsaw; the MEDIUM photos are 5" x 6" there are about 25 of them and then there are postcard sized and slightly larger ones...about 32 of those. About 63 newspaper and magazine photos glued/cornered in...16 cartoons, 15 news clippings, bulletins, reports.I was thinking about selling things piecemeal, but I'm sure there is someone out there who would really appreciate the AWESOME historical nature of this as a whole. It was pretty difficult trying to figure which photos to show you...I took several more and would be happy to send more to serious interested parties and/or to answer any questions you might have. On the question of price...an sale with a big name sale house might be the way but I thought I'd try to figure a Buy it Now that made some sense equal to what I think equal to its historical value. Many of the Medium/Large photos would probably sell individually for $50-75. That's $3000 right there.
