This listing is for an original vintage/antique framed oil painting of a beach scene featuring a pretty young woman and beach-goers, all enjoying their favorite beverage, Coca-Cola.The piece measures 36" x 24" (including frame).The artist went beyond just painting a flat surface scene, they also applied a rather realistic hand-made (wood?) Coke bottle to the surface, giving it an added dimension--literally and aesthetically!
There is a name on the back ('June'?) which may be the artist's signature--and possibly even a self-portrait of herself as the young woman depicted in the foreground--but I don't know. Judging by the women's bathing suits, the paint patina (age) and the unusual wood frame style, the painting is likely circa 1925-1930, so about 100 years old. The painting may have been commissioned by a food/bar business or a concept by the artist for their own interest, just my conjecture. But I think it was more likely a commission piece. In any case it's in superb physical condition!
A truly unique and original art/advertising piece combining summer at the beach, bathing beauty and one of the most iconic American brands in history! What's not to love? :)
