28 loose real photo postcards, all ca. 13.5 x 8 cm (5 ¼ x 3 in). Six images captioned in negative. A couple of photos mildly faded or with silver mirroring, but overall a very good collection of interesting photos.

A rare collection of real photo postcards showing northern Arizona during the early 20th century.

19 postcards show Walnut Canyon (now Walnut Canyon National Monument), known for its preserved cliff dwellings constructed by the Sinagua people. They include general views of the canyon, a formation known as “Hanging Rock,” and several exterior views of the cliff dwellings. Also included are five portraits of American tourists posing in the scenery.

There are also seven postcards of the Petrified Forest, now Petrified Forest National Park (general views, some featuring tourists. Additionally, one postcard shows the San Francisco Peaks, a volcanic mountain range just north of Flagstaff, Arizona. Another postcard shows the Bottomless Pit, also near Flagstaff, a sinkhole in the Kaibab Limestone.

Overall, an interesting collection of photographs showing natural and historic sites in northern Arizona during the early 20th century.
