Renaissance Mannerist Hollow Cast Silver Corpus of Jesus Cast Circle of Giambologna ( Flemish born Italian Mannerist sculpture ( 1529 - 1608 ). The corpus retains its original crown of thorns how-ever it is missing the back section, in other words instead of being a full circle crown, it is only half of a circle or crown. The corpus is in very good condition, No parts missing or damaged on the anatomical structure of the Christ. It is approximately 15.7 cm from head til toes, and approximately 15.6 cm from hand to hand. The anatomical detail is absolutely Beautiful! The fingers are created perfectly with great deatail, evry digit and and finger nail! The original nails connecting the hands to the cross are original, how-ever the nail connecting the feet to the cross is replaced. The corpus and cross come with a base which is a contains three reliquary chambers and glass windows. One chamber reads what appears to me as SS Inotu? and the other side chamber is illegible. The center chamber has some sort of chalk material mini sculpture of Mother Mary and baby Jesus. On top of the cross is a beautiful but simple thin silver sign with the INRI initials. It is a Museum piece, or yet better a Prayer or Church piece.
