With a gentle, cursory wind, the bird sprang into movement & a beautiful melody of bird's clear, crisp twill began on the hour strike. The bird moves both mouth & body. A crisp & clear, beautifully relaxing melodic sound produced. Note the top cylinder shows the original non-faded display hours, all intact. Plus the bird's vibrant colorations . .that still pop, amazingly

This rare German singing bird cage clock is uniquely early, of solid brass(now a richly developed bronze patina), original bird (having right color feathers) & internal automotron mechanisms. NO later inferior plastics found here as it was created circa 1889 (per extensive internet research). Provenance
Private estate collection, new to market. Returned to it's locked display cabinet after photos for continued safe keeping. No children have ever handled this wonderful item. Originally owned & displayed by my grandmother; a gift from her sons in Germany (WWII). Petite Dimensions
