Description:A recent find from a one-of-a-kind historical collection of 1916Democratic campaign material in the State of Wisconsin. Despite thefoxing, staining, water damage, creases, wrinkles, and small amounts of paperloss along parts of the left edge, this is a miraculously preserved thin papercampaign poster which was exclusively intended for single usage. Evenwith the defects, this extraordinary piece could be restored to perfectcondition. It is folded twice and then stored between the font pages fromthe American Type Founders Company. There is not even an image of thisfantastic poster anywhere and it almost certainly is the sole survivingexample. If not for a savvy individual in 1916, it would never have beensaved for American Political History. A magnificent discovery.

The size is 13.75 inches horizontally and just under 20 inchesvertically. The message at the top is “We’re for him because he’s forus.” Woodrow Wilson used these words for both the 1912 and 1916Presidential Campaigns. The text at the bottom is “I am willing, nomatter what my personal fortunes may be, to play for the verdict of mankind,”which was used for the 1916 Presidential Campaign. This is followed below andto the right with a facsimile signature of Woodrow Wilson. The ovalportrait was copyrighted by Harris & Ewing while the logo below and to theright of the portrait indicates that the printing was done via the Union Label:Amalgamated Lithographers of America, Local #4 of Chicago.
