רבי יוסף שאפוטשניק (תרמ"ב-תרצ"ח),נולד בקישינב לאביו האדמו"ר מבעלזיץ. קיבל בבחרותו סמיכה מהמהרש"ם מברזן. הגיע לאנגליה בשנת תרע"ג. דמות מיוחדת של עילוי מדהים ואדם מוכשר רב-פעלים. יזם ופעל רבות בתחומים שונים: הוצאת ספרים וכתבי עת, ש"ס מבואר "הגדול שבגדולים", 'רפואה' למחלות גוף ונפש, צדקה ועוד.
